You've heard the name, you've heard what she did, but do you really know the huge impact Madam C.J. Walker made? Most speak about her during Black History Month, but her name is more than worthy to be brought back up during Women's History Month. This historic, game-changing woman was one of the first American women to become a self-made millionaire. Notice, I didn't say African American or black women, she was one of the first American women to go from making a dollar a day to meeting this accomplishment. Known to us as Madam C.J. Walker, but born Sarah Breedlove, this woman changed the hair game by creating hair products specialized for African-American and textured hair.

Madam C.J. Walker used the knowledge from her brothers, as they were barbers, and the the knowledge she learned from working in hair care to create and develop her own hair product line. This beautiful woman paved the way for the many hair care entrepreneurs that we know today. Because of her, so many have been able to not only keep their hair together, but make financial advancements and create a specialized industry.

Join me in saluting and honoring Madam C.J. Walker during Women's History Month!
